Hello, I’m Stephen — the filmmaker behind Shepperson Wedding Films. Together with my wife Jenny, I create beautiful, natural wedding films that allow couples to relive their special day for a lifetime. Here are a few photographs of me doing what I love most — capturing those unforgettable wedding moments.
My love of filmmaking began with an absolute passion for watching films. Ever since I was young, I’ve been fascinated by the magic of cinema — the excitement of sitting in a cinema waiting for a film to begin, or enjoying movie nights at home with my family. I can still remember the tingles of excitement I felt going to the cinema, knowing I was about to be transported into another world. Whether it was science fiction, fantasy, superheroes, breathtaking spectacles or emotional stories, I loved how films could make the impossible feel real, stir powerful emotions and leave you thinking about them long after the credits had rolled. That fascination has never faded. I’m still an enormous film enthusiast (some might say a complete film nerd!), and watching films remains one of my greatest passions. It was this lifelong love of cinema and storytelling that inspired me to develop my own filmmaking skills through school and college, eventually turning something I loved into my career.
My passion for film led me to university, where I studied for a BA degree in Media Production and graduated with First-Class Honours. During my studies, one of my short films was also selected as a finalist in the Fiction category of the Royal Television Society Awards — an achievement I’m particularly proud of and an exciting early milestone in my filmmaking career.
After graduating, I began my professional career working for an audiovisual and events production company, where I gained hands-on experience across the entire video production process. This took me to events throughout the UK and overseas, working in all kinds of environments and developing the technical skills, creativity and confidence that I still draw upon today. One particularly memorable experience was having the opportunity to film Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip — an incredible privilege, although I must admit it was a little nerve-racking at the time!
After several years working in professional video production, I decided in 2012 that it was time to take the leap and start my own business. With our first daughter on the way, I had an even greater motivation to build something of my own and create a future for my growing family. I established Limelight Media Productions Ltd, and in 2013 Shepperson Wedding Films began its journey, combining my professional filmmaking experience with my lifelong love of storytelling. What started as an exciting new chapter has since grown into a business that has captured over 275 weddings and countless unforgettable moments.
In 2015, my wife Jenny joined the business, initially helping with editing and offering her creative input. Since then, we’ve developed into a fantastic team, combining our skills, ideas and attention to detail to create wedding films we’re genuinely proud of. Away from the cameras and editing screens, we’re also proud parents to our two daughters, Holly and Poppy, who continue to inspire everything we do. In 2019, Jenny and I celebrated our own wedding at the beautiful Lanwades Hall in Suffolk. Aside from the births of our daughters, it remains one of the most special days of our lives. Having our own wedding professionally filmed was one of the best decisions we made. Being able to watch it again, hear those familiar voices and relive the emotions of the day has given us an even deeper appreciation of just how precious wedding films become over time. It’s something we want every couple we film to experience for themselves.

For us, wedding filmmaking is about so much more than simply recording the events of the day. We love capturing the genuine emotions, spontaneous laughter, heartfelt moments and little details that make every wedding unique. Our approach is relaxed and discreet, allowing your celebrations to unfold naturally while we preserve the memories that matter most. We then bring those moments together through thoughtful editing, beautiful imagery and carefully chosen music to create a personal, cinematic wedding film. One of the most rewarding parts of our work is receiving the wonderful feedback from our couples when they watch their films for the first time — often accompanied by a few happy tears and plenty of laughter!
Couples often describe me as friendly, approachable and easy-going, which is something I’m particularly proud of. I know that being filmed can feel a little daunting, especially if you’re not used to being in front of a camera. That’s why I aim to make everyone feel comfortable and relaxed, working discreetly alongside your photographer and other suppliers. Many couples tell me they barely noticed I was filming, yet they’re amazed by how many special moments we’ve managed to capture when they watch their finished wedding films.
What I love most about running Shepperson Wedding Films is being able to combine my lifelong passion for cinema and storytelling with the privilege of capturing such meaningful occasions. Working alongside Jenny makes it even more special. Every wedding is an opportunity to meet wonderful people, witness incredible moments and create something that families can treasure for generations. I genuinely look forward to getting to know each couple, hearing their story and being part of a day they’ll remember forever.
